What does a typical day at Suncourt Hotel & Conference Centre look like for you? 

After checking the conferences on the day with reception,  I check that the rooms are set up ready for the guest to arrive i.e. ice cold water, the catering area is set up & all the equipment needed is in there.  I then head through the kitchen to say hi and make sure everything is on track for the day.  On my way back to my office I call into the restaurant to see if they have all the details for the day and are all okay.  I then head to my office and start my office work, following up on emails and work with future guests on the finer details of their upcoming conferences, always updating the paperwork as I go. 

Upon arrival of the event organiser, I take them to their conference room, help them set up the equipment they need, run through Health & Safety and re-confirm the plan for the day around breaks and catering.

 The Hotel is owned and operated by a local family with hands-on management for instant answers.

What motivates you to do your job? 

To keep the guest happy and make sure the organisation and end result is the best it possibly can be.

What do you like to do in your spare time? 

I attend the local gym, garden and keep in touch with my family- in particular my two grandsons by video chats.

What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?

Don’t pass up any opportunity, as you may never get the chance to do it again.
