We are counting down the days until the July School holidays which also means the start of Winterfest! This annual festival runs from 8th – 24th July and is action-packed with events for the whole family and for all ages. The focus of Winterfest is to celebrate the arts, culture and to have a whole lot of fun!

The festival is brought to you by The One Taupō Trust which exists to:

• establish festivals promoting community, fun, art, music and inspiration to all attendees
• give back to the wider Taupō community by providing financial assistance to families needing to travel outside of the district to seek specialist medical treatment
• support healthy families through education in nutrition and lifestyle choice

The majority of festival activities are located in and around the Tongariro North Domain and Great Lake Centre – the hub of Taupō with the favourites being the Mercury Light Hub, Wairakei Estate Ice Rink, Rapids Jet Ice Slide, Ebbett Taupo Fun Zone, & DPA Dinner on the Domain. Plus there’s a Harcourts Theatre Show, Cheal Degustation Dinner, live music, creation stations, Build Taupo Creative Igloos, and much, much more!

This festival has been around for 6 years and has become a highlight of winter in Taupō! 
Some of our personal favourites include the comedy nights, ice skating and Dinner at the Lake where you are spoilt with choice of food trucks and free live music!
