A


Air conditioning

To operate the Air Conditioning/Heater unit (point remote towards unit on the wall):

  1.  Press OFF|ON to turn the unit on or off
  2. Press MODE to toggle between: – Auto (Auto climate control) – Heat (Heater) – Cool (Air conditioning) – Dry (Removes moist air) – Fan (Fan only) – Auto-X (Fast cooling)
  3. Press FAN SPEED to toggle between: – Auto (Auto fan) – 1 bar (low speed) – 5 bars (high speed)
  4. Press SET TEMP up arrow to increase setting
  5. Press SET TEMP down arrow to decrease setting

The unit may take several minutes before a change in climate is noticeable. For optimal use, set Mode and Fan to AUTO and select desired temperature. Please keep doors and windows closed while the unit is in use to ensure maximum efficiency as well as helping us to reduce energy consumption.

Check out

Check out is at 10am. If you wish to check out after this time, please discuss this with Reception prior to the morning of your departure and we will endeavour to meet your requirements. Please note this is subject to availability and charges may apply after 11am. If you are departing early in the morning, please settle your account the evening before your departure.

Electric blankets

Electric blankets are on all beds. Controls are under the mattress for your safety, pull out to operate. Please switch appliances off when not in use.

Extras

Please do not hesitate to contact reception (dial 0) if you require anything to enhance your stay. Whether it’s extra blankets, a phone charger or fresh milk for your cuppa. We will do our very best to make anything possible

Emergency & evacuation procedures

Suncourt Hotel & Conference Centre is fully equipped with safety technology and equipment. For your and others personal safety, please follow the instructions of our staff, who have been trained to react in these situations.

We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the location of your room in relation to the nearest safety exits and stairways and read the information which is clearly displayed by the entry door of your room.

Please advise reception if you have a physical condition that might impair your ability to either detect an alarm or evacuate the building without assistance. On hearing the evacuation tone, guests should evacuate the hotel immediately via the nearest and safest fire exit door and proceed to the ASSEMBLY AREA – Grassed area in front of Hotel Reception Entrance. At the assembly area you will receive further instructions and help from the Hotel staff or emergency service personnel.

Food & drink

Our onsite restaurant & bar is a casual, all day eatery serving quality, sustainably sourced ingredients. With stunning views of Lake Taupō and the mountains of Tongariro National Park it is ideal for a cup of coffee or a glass of bubbles. Drenched in sunshine until late in summer and with a fully enclosed and heated area for the colder months, you can enjoy it all year round. Reservations are encouraged for dinner, to book a table please call reception (dial 0).

Guest laundry

There are two guest laundries with extra ironing facilities on each level of the front hotel block next to rooms 6 and 22. Guest laundry hours are between 7:00am and 09:00pm daily. Washing machines and the dryer are coin operated and require 2x $2.00 coins per load – change is available from reception, as well as washing powder at $2.00 per sachet.

Housekeeping

Our housekeeping team service all rooms daily. Please be aware that room servicing can start from 9:30am. If you are staying multiple nights and do not require a service, please hang the “Do not disturb” sign outside your door. Should you require any extras, please let the housekeeping or reception team know.

Please note for stays longer than 2 nights: Housekeeping staff is required to enter the room at subsequent times to clean the room, check for safety, and verify the condition of the room. Management reserves the right to enter a room with a known status of “Do not disturb” for reasonable purposes, such as an emergency, housekeeping, maintenance, verify that the room, its furnishings, and mechanical equipment are intact, or to address or prevent the violation of our Hotel Policy/House Rules.

The team at Suncourt Hotel & Conference Centre are trying to minimize our impact on New Zealand’s beautiful environment. A small contribution to save precious water is to reuse towels instead of laundering after every use. If you do not require your towels to be replaced daily, please re-hang them on the rail, otherwise leave them on the floor. Read more about looking after beautiful New Zealand under T- Tiaki.

For your convenience, short term luggage storage is possible at reception on the day of departure. Please talk to us at check out.

Maintenance

If you experience any problems requiring maintenance, please contact reception (dial 0).

Maps of Taupō and a variety of brochures for activities in the area are available in reception, please ask the team.

Noise complaint

We kindly ask our guests to respect the occupants of the neighbouring rooms by keeping noise levels at a reasonable level. If you are experiencing any problems from neighbouring guests, please (dial 0) for reception or our night porters between 10pm and 6:30am. We have a strict no party or excessive noise policy in our accommodation blocks. Breach of this policy might result in eviction of the room without refund.

Non-smoking

All our rooms including balconies and enclosed public areas in the hotel are designated non-smoking (and vape free). The non-smoking policy applies to both occupants and visitors in these rooms. If smoking occurs during your stay, you will be charged a minimum of $250.00 for appropriate cleaning and potential loss of income.

Phone

Freephone and NZ landline numbers can be called from your in-room phone. To make a call outside the hotel dial “9” followed by the respective phone number.

In case of an emergency dial 9 + 111

To call another room in the hotel dial “1” followed by the room number as per below:

For rooms 1-9 dial 1 + 0 + Room Number (i.e. to call room 1 dial 101).

For rooms 10-52 dial 1 + Room Number (i.e. to call room 10 dial 110).

Pool

Our outdoor swimming pool & heated plunge pool are open to guests from 7:00am – 9:00pm – please check the signs at the pool entrance for possible changes. The gate must always be kept closed and children under 12 years must be supervised at all times. No glass is allowed in the pools. Pool towels are available at reception, kindly return them after each use.

Reception

Reception can be contacted for assistance 24 hours a day (dial 0). The office is open daily from 6:30am – 10pm. Night porters are available from 10pm to 6:30am.

Recycling

We encourage our guests to support us in our efforts to recycle waste such as aluminum cans, paper, plastic bottles and glass. Recycling bins are provided within the hotel grounds (family block, premium block and main building upstairs). Thank you!

Room service

Room service from the menu of our onsite Restaurant is available daily. There is a service charge of $5.00 for every order. Please allow up to 45 minutes for delivery during busy service times. To order, please dial 162 from your room. To see our current menu and times click here.

Security

For your safety and security, please always keep your door closed and locked. We have cameras and sensor lights operating around the complex. The management regrets that they cannot be held responsible for storage of any valuables left in rooms or vehicles, or damage caused to any vehicle on the hotel grounds.

TV

All units are equipped with 50” Smart TV’s with Freeview and casting capabilities. To cast from your own device please:

  1. Connect your device (phone, laptop, Ipad…) to your room number’s Wi-Fi network. The password can be found on the phone in your room.
  2. Once your personal device is connected to your rooms independent Wi-Fi network, press the mouse icon on your TV remote.
  3. Select HDMI 1 and press ENTER.
  4. You are now connected.

If your device is unable to cast to the TV, you are able to login to your personal accounts (Disney Plus, Netflix, Neon …) on your TV. Please remember to logout of your personal accounts upon departure.

Tea & Coffee

Tea & coffee can be found in the top draw of your kitchenette. If you are in rooms 1 – 27 there’s a small draw at the top of that main draw where they are kept. If you having any trouble please contact reception (0).

Wifi

To access, please select the guest network Suncourt Hotel and use the password WifiFourYou (case sensitive). Each accommodation unit has its own independent network which is best for use inside your room and when you want to cast to your Smart TV. The network name is your room number and the password can be found on your room phone.
